Charles E. “Chuck” Sackermann Jr. is Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Voyager Media. With more than three decades of experience leading companies at the intersection of broadcast, satellite, wireless, and digital media distribution, Chuck has built a reputation for delivering innovative communications solutions and developing strategic partnerships that serve many of the world’s leading cruise lines, broadcasters, media companies, and telecommunications organizations.
Throughout his career, Chuck has successfully led complex technology initiatives in support of mission-critical communications networks. He helped launch CNBC, contributed to communications restoration efforts following the 2010 Haiti earthquake, and played a significant role in the restoration of broadcast infrastructure following the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City.
In addition to leading Voyager Media, Chuck serves as CEO of Digital Video Systems, a recognized leader in maritime media distribution, and President of K2 Communications, where he has managed wireless infrastructure operations and strategic communications assets at locations including the Empire State Building, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, and the historic Armstrong Tower in Alpine, New Jersey.
Beyond his business accomplishments, Chuck dedicated more than 30 years to the Woodcliff Lake Fire Department in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. During his distinguished volunteer service, he served in numerous leadership roles, including three years as Chief of Department.
Chuck is also leading an initiative to preserve the history of the communications industry’s response to the September 11 attacks by documenting the restoration of New York City’s communications infrastructure, ensuring that the technical achievements and personal stories of those involved are preserved for future generations.
Chris Lavin is Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founder of Voyager Media. Chris leads the technology behind the company’s in-trip broadcast platform, overseeing the distribution architecture that delivers Voyager’s premium content and advertising globally. In addition to architecting and operating the IP transport networks and teleport that form the backbone of the Voyager network, he drives the company’s technology roadmap and new product innovation.
Chris brings more than two decades of experience across the technology and media industries. In 2008 he founded Verris, Inc., a Florida-based systems integrator and solutions provider serving the broadcast, education, film, government, multimedia, and post-production markets, with clients including the Southeastern Conference, the Florida Panthers, and Discovery Latin America. He later served as Chief Technology Officer of Olympusat, directing broadcast engineering, uplink and network operations, and the design of IPTV, OTT, and content delivery solutions for both live and on-demand distribution.
Chris began his career as an entrepreneur, launching a chain of computer retail stores, the early internet service provider JustOnline.com, and The Solutions People, one of Florida’s largest technology staffing firms. Outside of media, he is Co-CEO of Home Invest, a real estate investment firm.
Chris is a longtime supporter of Make-A-Wish America and lives in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Jennifer Cesa is Chief Revenue Officer & Co-Founder of Voyager Media, where she leads the company’s commercial strategy, revenue organization, strategic partnerships, and go-to-market execution.
Jennifer brings more than 30 years of experience driving revenue growth and building high-performing commercial organizations across television, digital media, digital out-of-home (DOOH), retail media, and branded content. Throughout her career, she has developed innovative advertising partnerships with many of the world’s largest brands and agencies while leading organizations through periods of rapid transformation and growth.
Prior to co-founding Voyager Media, Jennifer served as Regional Vice President of Client Partnerships at GSTV, where she significantly expanded revenue, built one of the organization’s highest-performing sales teams, and helped position the business during its acquisition by MidOcean Partners. Before GSTV, she led North American Agency Partnerships at Shutterstock and served as Sales Director and Launch Executive for Tastemade Home. She previously spent more than two decades with Scripps Networks Interactive and Discovery, leading advertising partnerships across iconic lifestyle brands including HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, DIY Network, Cooking Channel, and Great American Country.
Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree from Villanova University and has been an active supporter of industry and community organizations throughout her career, including WICT, She Runs It, and Yoga Foster. She also serves on New York City’s Greenwich Village Community Board.
Eric Z. Sherman is Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder of Voyager Media. Eric leads go-to-market strategy, data partnerships, customer insights, audience research, and advertising effectiveness measurement for the company. In his role as CMO, he oversees brand and product marketing, guiding Voyager's marketplace positioning and sales narratives.
Prior to joining Voyager, Eric was EVP, Insights + Analytics at GSTV, a national media network reaching 40% of US adults monthly. At GSTV, Eric established, hired, and mentored a high-performing audience insights, product marketing, and advertising effectiveness research team for a video platform at the intersection of retail media and digital out-of-home (DOOH) advertising. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the company's board, Eric was part of the senior leadership team that pitched the company to strategic and private equity investors, culminating in a successful $500+ million exit.
Eric has held senior marketing, research, and media / advertising measurement roles at Twitter (now X), Clear Channel Outdoor, and NBCUniversal, where he led a team overseeing ad effectiveness, brand positioning, and thought leadership research for the broadcast and digital properties of CNBC, the global business news network. Earlier in his career, Eric advised Fortune 100 companies on marketing and strategy at Digitas, Kantar, and EXL.
Eric holds a bachelor's degree from Princeton University and a master's degree from the NYU Stern School of Business, and lives in NJ with his wife and children.
Charlie Sackermann is Co-Founder and Head of Advertising Partnerships at Voyager Media. Charlie cultivates and manages partnerships for the company, building commercial relationships with both advertisers and distribution partners.
What is now Voyager Media got its start when Charlie, still in college at the time, began laying the groundwork for a media and advertising business as a strategic initiative within the technology company which is today Voyager's parent entity. As the company's first employee, Charlie's vision and initiative for the firm have propelled the business to its marketplace leadership position today.
Charlie attended the University of Tennessee and currently lives in Miami, Florida.
Steven J. Gigliotti is an Advisor to Voyager Media. Steve counsels the company’s leadership on advertising sales strategy, revenue organization design, and agency and advertiser relationships as Voyager scales its in-trip broadcast network.
Steve spent 18 years at Scripps Networks Interactive, where he built and led the national advertising sales organization for a portfolio of category-defining lifestyle brands including HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, and Great American Country. Named Chief Revenue Officer in 2015, he took on responsibility for both advertising revenue and content distribution, a role he held through the company’s acquisition by Discovery. Under his leadership, Scripps’ ad sales and marketing teams stood among the few media groups to deliver sustained double-digit advertising revenue growth.
Earlier in his career, Steve served as Vice President and General Manager of WMAR-TV, the ABC affiliate in Baltimore, and of KOVR-TV in Sacramento. Prior, he spent a decade at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, joining as head of advertising sales and rising to General Manager.
Steve attended Villanova University and earned his degree in marketing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has given his time to community organizations throughout his career, including board service for the Urban League, Towson University, and the American Heart Association. Steve currently serves as board director for the Friends of the Smokies. He lives in the Asheville, North Carolina area.
Shannon McKee is an Advisor to Voyager Media. Shannon guides the company on travel industry relationships, commercial strategy, and destination partnerships, drawing on more than three decades of experience.
Shannon is Founder and President of Access Cruise, Inc., a Miami-based cruise marketing and business development consultancy she established in 2010, and Co-Founder of Excursions IQ, an AI platform built for tour providers and cruise line executives. Through Access Cruise, she connects ports, tour operators, technology companies, and emerging brands to decision-makers across the world’s cruise lines.
Shannon began her career at sea with Norwegian Cruise Line in 1992, spending 18 years with the line and rising from shipboard roles to Cruise Director before moving ashore to Norwegian’s Miami headquarters. She ultimately served as Vice President of Onboard Revenue, with responsibility for the full portfolio of onboard guest revenue centers — shore excursions, retail, spa, photo, internet, art, and gaming.
A frequent speaker and moderator across the industry, Shannon is a Seatrade Cruise Ports & Destinations ambassador, co-host of the podcast “Our Take on Cruise,” a Seatrade Cruise Awards finalist, and a returning guest lecturer on entrepreneurship at the University of Miami’s business school. She holds a degree in sales and marketing from Texas Christian University and lives in Miami with her husband and two children.
